Unique Gift Ideas for Girls 2014- Birthday and Christmas Presents

Ideas for Unique Gifts for Girls

Need ideas for unique gifts for girls? Now that my daughters are getting older, they are getting more and more difficult to buy gifts for. They never really wanted to play with toys. They would have much rather played with boxes, old papers and my pots and pans.

Now that they are 8 and 11 they are not only out of the toy ages, but they also are getting more expensive to buy for. So now I have to start thinking outside the box on what to buy them and to give friends and family ideas for Christmas and birthdays.

The one thing that they do love is jewelry. Rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings... it doesn't matter what type of jewelry it is, they just love wearing it.

When I saw a personalized necklace, I knew it was the perfect gift for my daughters. They love to have items that are personalized however, we can't find anything pre-made with their names spelled the correct way. I guess that's what happens when I try to do things a little different.

Since I have had a difficult time choosing gifts for my girls, I thought others might be having the same problem. I decided to put a list of gift ideas for girls together. I hope these ideas help you to choose the perfect gift!

Make Your Own Necklace

I am not to crafty however, I know that there are many that have a great talent when it comes to DIY projects. If you have the tools, you could make a personalized necklace similar to the one in the photo. You could add her birthstone or her favorite color stone to it.

Another option is to use a rubber stamp to create your design on your necklace. There are so many different stamps to use. To make it personal you could stamp her favorite sport, animal or initials. That's a great way to make it unique for her.

More Gift Ideas My Daughters Would Love to Receive

Every year I struggle with what they would like for their birthdays and Christmas. A couple of years ago they decided that they just wanted money for their birthday and that made me think, why not have a shopping day. While this is not a unique gift idea, it is a fun thing to do.

After their birthdays we choose a shopping day just for the two of us. We have lunch and shop at their favorite stores. This is nice because, I get one on one time with them and they pick out the clothes and accessories that they want. They bring their money for other things that they want.

Here are a few more gift ideas:

* My girls love perfume, lotions, body butter and body spray. Anything they can put on to smell good they want it.

* A scrapbook is a great way for her to put all of her photos together. She can be creative while keeping memories of her friends and family. If she only uses a phone or iPod to take pictures, maybe throw in a disposable camera too.

* Craft kits are always on the list at our house. Some of the favorites are jewelry, sun catchers, stamp kits and accessories kits for the hair.

* If you are shopping for a tween or teen a solar backpack may be just what they need. Like most kids these days they have an iPod, cell phone, tablet or laptop. The solar backpack features a solar panel that is used to charge any electronic devices.

Think About Her Personality

I hope that these gift ideas have helped you to find a gift or at least helped to get you thinking. These are just a few gifts that my daughters either loved receiving or would like to receive. If you just think about her hobbies, interests and personality, you will find that there are many unique gifts for girls.

Unique Gifts for Girls

As the mother of two girls- ages 8 and 11- I thought it might help to put together some ideas for unique gifts for girls that I know that my daughters would love to receive.

As they get older it becomes more difficult to buy gifts for them not to mention more expensive. They are at the age where they are to old for toys and honestly, other then them playing with their baby dolls, they didn't play much with toys.

Wow...what do you get for girls that don't play with toys? If you have this same problem or you just can't think of any unique gifts for girls, then I have listed 5 that may be the perfect gift for your daughter, granddaughter, niece or any other special girl you are buying for or at least give you some ideas.

As I stated earlier my girls didn't get into toys to much. They would much rather have markers, crayons and a piece of paper to draw or write. They also love craft projects so, anything that involves that is a huge hit at our house.

My girls aren't afraid to get get out in the mud and get dirty either but, they also like to be girly girls. They love paining their nails, styling their hair and wearing jewelry. So, this is why I have chosen these unique gift ideas for girls.

Jewelry Boxes for Girls

If she likes jewelry then a jewelry box is a great way to keep it all together and organized. Otherwise, it seems that nothing stays together like her favorite pair of earrings.

Both of my daughters have a jewelry box to keep all of their bracelets, rings, necklaces and earrings in. This really helps to keep their necklaces from getting tangled up. There is nothing worse than spending money on a nice necklace or bracelet just to find it tangled up on her dresser.

There are may different colors, styles and sizes to choose from. You want to be sure to get one that is big enough to hold all of her jewelry. Take a look at the Kloud purple two-layer lint jewelry box. It has two levels for storage and holds a lot of jewelry. The long compartments keep bracelets and necklaces from getting tangled up. It's a pretty color and it isn't expensive. Click on the image to check the current price but it wasn't very expensive when I last looked at it.

Karaoke Machine

If you have a music lover amongst you, she will love a karaoke machine! Both of my children love music however, my youngest is the one that wants a guitar and a microphone to be like here favorite pop stars. She always wanted a real microphone and stand so that she could sing like Taylor Swift. While I wanted her to have one more than anything, I didn't want to have to buy an amp for her to be able to have an actual microphone.

As I was researching on the most realistic looking mic, I came across the Memorex MKS-SS2 SingStand 2 Home Karaoke System. It has everything that I was looking for. It has the stand that she was wanting with a real microphone and you can add a second mic for a friend. There is no need for an amp because, it has its own speaker at the bottom of the stand with adjustable volume. I purchased it for her birthday and she loved it! She can hook her iPod up to it and sing her little heart out. If she chooses to, she can also plug in her tablet so that she can see the lyrics better when she chooses a songs off of YouTube. I was also really impressed with the price because when I purchased it, it was under $60 and free shipping.

Dance Bags

Dancing seems to be a favorite activity for most girls whether it's just for fun or going to dance class. A dance bag seems to be an important accessory for dance class to carry their shoes, a change of clothes and a water bottle. I found several extremely cute dance bags for girls at any age. The bags on this list are highly rated by other dancers or dance moms and they range in price to fit any budget.

Fashion Design Portfolio

Do you have a future clothes designer to buy for? A fashion design sketchbook is a great way for her to express her creativity in clothing. She can sketch her own clothes or use the stencil cards or template that come with the portfolio. If she doesn't know how to draw the figures, some have templates and some are already in the portfolio depending on which book you choose. This is the perfect gift for aspiring fashion designer who love to sketch clothes. You can find the most popular fashion portfolios here.

Scrapbook Kit and Crafts

A scrapbook is a great way for her to keep all of her photos organized in a fun, creative way. These days it seems that all pictures are taken on a cell phone or iPod and there aren't any physical pics to keep. If she doesn't have a camera, a disposable camera would be an inexpensive way to get one. A scrapbook is the perfect way to keep all of her memories of friends and family in one place. Finding unique gifts for girls can be tricky at times. If you know their personality and what types of thing they like to do, it can help when choosing a gift. Think about what types of sports they like or if they like to dance or sing. Are they creative? Maybe a craft or jewelry kit would be a great gift. I hope one of the ideas on this list gives you some inspiration when choosing a gift for that special girl in your life.
